Old-School. This is undoubtedly the motto of Imperium, which opened its doors by the hand of Firmino at the beginning of the pandemic. It was with uncertainty that they started out on this path, but they soon realized that they were going to gain their definitive space, when they won the trust of several clients and survived the tough months of mandatory lockdown.

It was a trial by fire, but nothing that the residents of Cidade Invicta aren't already used to.

The atmosphere of the space has a decidedly vintage vibe, transporting us to another era, of Gentlemen, and was also completely decorated by Firmino. The cutting style is also very decidedly old-school, although they integrate it alongside the new trends that are emerging.

It's another place to visit if you want to keep up with the latest trends, but don't want to lose your Gentleman soul.

Son of a fish, he can swim!

Fernando started in the world of scissors at the age of 16, in São Paulo, Brazil, where he was born, and it's easy to understand why - he has five barbers in his family. Professionally, he's done other things, but he returned "home" 10 years ago and hasn't left since.

Art is already in his blood, but he is adamant that his doors are open and that he does any kind of style - he loves to do gradients, but scissor cuts and shaves also move him, as he considers himself to be a perfectionist.

The space was born in 2021 here in Porto, but he has had two barbershops in Brazil. He says with certainty that the most important thing is to enjoy what he does and has no doubt that he would cut hair even if his life circumstances changed and he didn't have to work.

July 2021. They have brought the novelty of the Armored Cut and the Painless Platinum Cut directly from Brazil to Portugal, making it a place for all types of public.

Palácio da Beleza has exclusive access for children, as well as partnerships with schools, something that has helped boost the dream of someone who started working with scissors and hair in Rio de Janeiro, in the Favela, at the age of 13. Life dictated it, but his passion for barbering ended up taking root in Israel. The hard work paid off and now the 13-year-old boy has grown up to become a talented and successful barber with several units and a Barber Academy.

We do not doubt that the Modern and New School style is an attraction for the people who frequent the space and for the many trainees who come out of Israel's hands.

Born and raised amid scissors and the art of hairdressing, it was at the age of 13 that he set out on his path. He began by cutting the hair of friends and schoolmates at home.

23 years later and directly from Brazil, he began a journey here in 2020 that he describes as being influenced by the Classic, the Social, and the Modern. Hercules has mastered all the techniques and is passionate about all of them.

The space is still being transformed, but he likes it just as it is and is adding his personal touch whenever he feels he needs to add his personal story to the walls that line the space where he shapes his art and where the scissors come to life and help his clients change the way they see themselves.

This place, in the heart of Porto's noble Foz district, is distinctly vintage, with touches of classic, and lots of green - there's a special fondness for plants and the color of wood.

The doors have been open through Gil's hands since 2020, with the aim of always doing the best possible for the look of everyone who walks through the doors, but his experience goes back more than 40 years, working in the art of hair and scissors on both men and women.

The decision to dedicate himself solely to men's haircuts came about because there are fewer technical jobs and what really drives Gil are jobs where he can make his vision, technique and style available. The influences in this space are definitely Classic and Modern, and Gil is the "idiot on duty" who sets the tone for how this space works.

It’s always an interesting visit, for at least a coffee and small talk with Gil, who never ceases to amaze with his unique vision of the world, and his life experience.

Man Mansion

It's no exaggeration to call this place a Mansion - it really is as luxurious and elegant as one. All the decoration has been incredibly well thought out, from the work chairs to the waiting area - the good taste and savoir-faire make the atmosphere almost palpable.

All the decoration was thought up by Tiago and Rúben, the Mansion's owners, who designed the project, and then put into practice by a decorator - no detail was left to chance.
